Continuum is a companion album to Score 001, Momentum, and is, once again, a collection of orchestral pieces for strings, woodwind, percussion, keyboards, harp and some electronic, atmospheric backdrops.

Although the minimalist techniques used on these pieces have been part of the composer’s armoury for nearly half a century, the music has a fresh and contemporary feel, and this makes it eminently suitable for use in a surprisingly wide variety of media productions. Examples can be found in both drama, where an atmosphere needs to be established, maintained and developed, and in documentaries, from high finance to history, cosmic exploration to cottage industry.

The almost trance-inducing nature of minimalist music makes it perfect for establishing an atmosphere, without interfering with dialogue or sound effects, while establishing a sense of continuity, which can be hard to achieve by more melodic material.
