ELIZABETH LEVINE

CIRCLES OF LIFE

Orchestral/Environmental/Documentary

Elizabeth Levine is an exciting, young, London-based composer and musician, who won the BBC/Guardian Young Composers competition at the age of 14, studied classical violin at London’s Royal Academy of Music, and is now making her mark as a composer of production music. Her music has already been heard in a wide variety of contexts – a game show on BBC1, a BBC4 documentary, MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’, and trailers for TCM’s A Night At the Movies: Thrillers – an evening of Hitchcock films.

She currently specialises in broad, emotional themes, with evocative textures, and incorporates her violin playing into the overall sound, bringing both sensitivity and humanity into a traditional orchestral soundscape. These tracks portray the drama and majesty of the natural world, from frozen Arctic landscapes to sub-Saharan deserts, from ocean depths to the farthest planet.
