Dave Hewson began composing at the age of 11. His early efforts were very influenced by the fact that his primary school music education was based entirely on the Carl Orff “Schulwerk”. This influence has stayed with David  and has shaped a lot of his much later music. In his late teens he studied composition with Professor Richard Arnell (pupil of John Ireland) at Trinity College of music London, and enrolled in a part time course on electronic music with Tristram Carey at the Royal College of Music. After gaining his B.Ed (Hon.) he taught music for six years.

Dave Hewson was a key contributor to the musical output of the in Techno Twins the 1980s, writing and creating most of their material for several albums. He performed on many of their other recordings and was integral in the creation of the only hit they had “Falling in Love Again” He invented their unique sound concept, and arrangements, all created in his 4 track studio in south London.

As a media composer he has written music for film and TV, including incidental music for BBC TV’s “Howards Way”, arranging and producing the “Eastenders” theme and Record, and the Channel Four documentaries The Morey Brothers, Heaven Man Earth , Six Into One,  and The MTM  Story. Recent work has included the new ITV National and regional news for ITV, and NEWS AT TEN, The Scars of War for Channel 4, and Police Action Live for ITV. TV themes include The Selina Scot Show, and David Frost’s Century. Also a recently commissioned series starring Prunella Scales as Queen Victoria for the BBC.

Consort and performances for ATV Television and a first appearance as composer guitarist in concert with piano supremo John Ogden for Manchester Institute of Contemporary Arts.

Contemporary music had a strong presence later in his work as a senior lecturer at Stockwell College Kent where he taught experimental music in education and music in film and television. It was during this period that he first teamed up with Dave Hewson in performance and composition for film and television. His compositions have long been established in the teaching and performance repertoire through publications of his works to be found in the catalogues of BMG, G. Ricordi, Universal, Boosey & Hawkes and Keith Prowse publishers and others.

His works have been performed at such events as Prestige de la Guitarre featuring The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet, The Assad Brothers and Eduardo Isaacs and has had recordings and performances by Trio Gitano, TG Collective,Carlos Bonell, Michael Strutt, Eduardo Isaacs and many others in concerts and national and international music festivals.

Jamie Béla Károly Fekete is a composer, working musician and guitar teacher. Since completing his degree at the University of Birmingham in English Literature and Philosophy, he has performed in many lineups as a guitar specialist; equally comfortable with finger-style and plectrum playing, Jamie has derived his technique and musical inspiration from the flamenco and gypsy-jazz traditions.

His compositions for the 7-piece ensemble TG Collective are guitar-led pieces that approach the above genres with anarchic intent. He also manages, composes and arranges music for The Destroyers, a 14-piece ‘Balkan Gypsy orchestra’, popular on the UK festival scene. Both groups have toured nationally and internationally, with numerous radio and TV appearances. Jamie also worked as principal guitarist for the RSC and spent eight years as an accompanist of flamenco dance and over ten years as a peripatetic teacher in the Birmingham area.

Jamie currently directs the Birmingham Schools’ Guitar Sinfonia (a thirty-strong guitar orchestra) and continues to regularly perform and compose.
